Basic Environmental Policy  

Environmental Philosophy 

SINFONIA TECHNOLOGY recognizes efforts for environmental conservation, including climate change adaptation, as important management issues. Our philosophy is to act with consideration for the environment in all aspects of our corporate activities to ensure the preservation of our irreplaceable planet not only in the present but also for the future. We aim to pass on healthy environments to the next generation and contribute to creating a flourishing and livable society. 

Environmental Action Guidelines 

1. We consider the lifecycle perspective in our environmental conservation activities. We evaluate the impact of our business activities, products, and services on the environment, and work to solve any the significant issues within technically and economically feasible limits. 

2. We continuously improve our environmental management system by reviewing it as needed. We strive to prevent and avoid environmental pollution arising as a result of our business activities. 

   We set environmental objectives and goals at each level and work towards improving environmental performance. 

3. We comply with environmental regulations and environmental considerations agreed upon by relevant organizations with which our company is associated. 
4. We focus on the following items as our priority issues: 

   (1) Environment-oriented technological development and manufacturing 

   (2) Environmental conservation activities aiming for a decarbonized society, a circular economy, and biodiversity preservation 

   (3) Management of chemicals and promotion of green procurement 

   (4) Prevention of pollution 

   (5) Contribution to local communities through environmental conservation activities 

5. Based on a lifecycle perspective, we work to reduce our environmental impact at each stage of research and development, design, procurement, manufacturing, transportation, use, and disposal. 

Statement on the Environment 

SINFONIA TECHNOLOGY's official position on the environment is encapsulated in the slogan “ECOing – Going with Ecology,” and our aims are to prevent global warming and create an environmentally friendly circular society. We promote environmentally conscious technological development and manufacturing. 

"ECOing" is the corporate environmental slogan upheld by SINFONIA TECHNOLOGY in Japan. By adding “ing,” which signifies action, to “ECO,” now a global imperative, we express our strong commitment to action towards achieving an eco-friendly society.

Promotion System for Environmental Management 

SINFONIA TECHNOLOGY’s environmental conservation activities are overseen by our Environmental Subcommittee, which operates within the Sustainability Committee and is led by our President, who also acts as Chairman of the latter committee. Environmental management supervisors, managers, and committees are assigned to each business site to facilitate environmental conservation activities.

Greenhouse Gas Emissions (Scopes 1 and 2) 

SINFONIA TECHNOLOGY is working on reducing global greenhouse gas emissions for environmental conservation. At production sites, our actions include converting to LED lighting, introduction of solar power generation facilities, and promoting energy conservation. 

In the future, we will continue to introduce energy-saving equipment, use renewable energy, and contribute to reducing global greenhouse gas emissions.

Waste Reduction 

We have set targets for reducing waste generation and final industrial waste disposal volume (reducing disposal volume compared to the previous year). We also work to separate our waste thoroughly and increase recycling rates. 

Acquisition of ISO 14001 Certification 

SINFONIA TECHNOLOGY has obtained ISO 14001 international certification to promote environmental conservation activities. Certification has now been obtained at all production sites in Japan.
